It’s pleasing to know that there are more and more world-renowned events, such as Cirque du Soleil in Monterrey, and it’s something that should undoubtedly be taken advantage of when visiting Monterrey, Mexico!

What is Luzia by Cirque du Soleil About?

The Cirque du Soleil show, Luzia, is inspired by the culture and traditions of Mexico. It’s a show that takes the public to an imaginary Mexico, paying homage to the great natural, historical, cultural, artistic, architectural and even mythological wealth of the country. Journey to a world bursting with color, alive with folklore, and exploding with art and talent that will enchant the whole family.

Music plays a very important role in all of Cirque du Soleil's productions, and it’s a great honor that the show chose an original Mexican group from Tijuana, called Nortec Collective, for all of Luzia’s musical numbers. Famous for melodies that fuse Mexican rhythms with electronic beats, Nortec Collective has done a magnificent job creating the melodies that accompany the whole "Luzia" show.

Something that has always characterized Cirque du Soleil is the name of its shows, which are usually a single word, sometimes invented, with a special meaning hidden behind it. "Luzia" is a fusion of the Spanish words for light and rain, which are the two main elements in the show.

Luzia by Cirque du Soleil premiered in 2016 in Montreal, Canada, and since then it has traveled to several countries around the world. And we are so proud that, at last, we’ll get to see it in Mexico and besides Monterrey, there are confirmed dates in Guadalajara and Mexico City.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to see Cirque du Soleil in Monterrey. Luzia promises to be an unforgettable show that you can enjoy with your family.
