July 03, 2018

It seems like each day there are more and more things to do in Monterrey. Exciting new events are added to the already extensive billboard of events in Monterrey, and this year we’ll again host the International Film Festival 2018 which will take place on August 16-23, 2018 and the spotlight will be on France!

The International Film Festival of Monterrey began in 2005, and year after year it’s grown in strength and size. It’s managed to become one of the biggest, most important film festivals in northern Mexico. The great thing about it being international is that, through the screen, viewers can learn more about a culture, its traditions, its struggles, its language and its way of life.

This is an intercultural showcase, connecting people from all over the world through visual works of art.

This film festival is also an excellent platform for new proposals, new talent and directors, making it one of the most important cultural events in Monterrey.

What to expect from the International Film Festival of Monterrey in its 2018 edition?

The International Film Festival in Monterrey will last an entertaining 8 days and screen over 200 feature films and short films, highlighting every type of work from fiction to animation to documentaries.

Each year, a special space is dedicated to the filmmakers and productions from Nuevo Leon, Mexico. You’ll also find:

- tributes to artistic trajectories,
- an international film training forum,
