Monterrey is home of some of the most noteworthy music festivals in Mexico. The “Sultan of the North” has become famous over the past few years for hosting large scaled musical events from all types of genres. Beyond Wonderland Mexico returns to the royal stages on March 10 to begin 2018. Fans will be transported to the world of Alice in Wonderland. The 2018 lineup will include artists such as Queen's Domain, Cheshire Woods and Outer Realm, in addition to Insomniac's iconic Boombox Art Car that’ll be present on all three stages.
One of the most famous founding music festivals in Mexico, the Tecate Pa'l Norte, had more than 37,000 people in attendance its inaugural year. To this day, more than 134,000 people have enjoyed Pa'l Norte. This year, it will fall on April 20 and 21. The 2018 lineup will include artists such as Muse, Bunbury, Justice, Queens on the Stone Age, Molotov, Zoe, among others.
On June 23, Monterrey will host one of the most important Spanish rock festivals in the North: the Machaca Fest. Guests will be able to see the Chilean singer Mon Laferte, Intocable, Caifanes, Thirty Seconds to Mars and many more bands that will be added the lineup in the next few days. In previous years, the Machaca Fest was host to groups such as El Gran Silencio, Bronco and La Maldita Vecindad.
One of the oldest and most celebrated festivals, with more than 11 years in the Netherlands, is the Wish Outdoor Festival. In its fourth year in Monterrey, Mexico, the Wish Outdoor Festival will be hosted by Dj Armin van Buuren. The event will take place May 26, 2018 and over 40,000 people are expected to be in attendance. Fans will be awestruck with the giant stages (over 100m long) with audiovisual shows, pyrotechnics and laser lights.
Another one of the most anticipated shows of the year is the Hellow Festival, held on August 25. They have not announced the 2018 lineup, but it is worth mentioning that in the past, this festival has played host to artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Deadmau5, MGMT, LCD Soundsystem, The Flaming Lips and Modest Mouse.
