Trip to Monterrey on a budget

December 22, 2017

If you are looking to relax for a few days and get out of the routine, but do not have a limited budget, we recommend visiting the state of Nuevo Leon, especially its capital: Monterrey.

In Nuevo Leon, you can make a variety of trips with little money, since this beautiful state has incredible tourist destinations that are free, for all ages and preferences. From open places with extreme fun, to enclosed venues to be filled with culture and knowledge of Mexico or the region.

In Monterrey, one of the most important museums in Mexico: Museum of Contemporary Art of Monterrey, better known as Marco. In this place temporary exhibitions of international stature are lodged, which is worth visiting because it is also one of the most important cultural centers of Latin America. We recommend going to this site on Wednesdays, since the entrance is free, as well as consulting the workshops, diplomas or courses they teach, may be of interest to you.

Very close to the area are the Museum of History of Mexico, Metropolitan Museum, Museo del Dulce, among others, three very good options, as the entrance is quite cheap and in some cases, has no cost.

Another place, which is an excellent option for the little ones, is the Biopark. This zoo is one of the most popular attractions for tourists every year, since children can feed the giraffes, take a dip in the pools, take a boat ride and travel with the whole family to the Safari aboard the trucks, among other activities.

Do not forget to make a stop at the famous La Boca Dam. Place where dozens of local people every weekend go to eat at the restaurants located in the area, make grilled meats or ride on skis.

And to delve a little into the iconic places of the entity, without a doubt you have to know the Grottos de García. A tour that will put you in touch with nature. To visit this tourist destination, you can go by car on your own, but if you want to save a few pesos, take a truck from the Alameda de Monterrey, which takes you straight to this place.

If you are coming to Monterrey for a vacation and plan to stay for more days, we recommend you to stay at the Best Western Plus Royal Courts, just 10 minutes from the city center and the most emblematic places of the city. In addition to having comfortable and spacious rooms, their rates are unbeatable, so you can save on your stay and enjoy all its amenities.
